A For Athens

This rooftop bar gives you the chance to pack your social media accounts with photos, not only with its magnificent view of the Acropolis but also with its inspirational cocktails, prepared by awarded bartenders.

7 Food Sins

This is a gastropub that makes the difference in Plaka's most central square, which is mainly occupied by tourist trap Greek tavernas. Seashells, seafood, fish, and meats are the basis for Greek and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, presented in photogenic platings. The interior of the beautiful two-level neoclassical building is painted in white and decorated in neo-rustic style. Tables outdoors.

360° Cocktail Bar

The view is unobstructed around this large terrace that hosts a restaurant (in the most privileged spot, towards the Acropolis) and a beautiful bar covered with traditional tiles. When the weather is not good, there are two more floors below with huge windows and industrial décor. The menu takes inspiration from Greek and Mediterranean recipes and uses many local ingredients, while the cocktail list is balanced between creativity and popular expectations.

French wines and gastronomy are served in this wine bar restaurant painted in bright yellow and green colour. The menu is signed by Alain Parodi, once awarded a Michelin star, and includes traditional French dishes as well as platters of exceptional cheese and cold cuts. Wines come mainly from France and are available to take away.

Couleur Locale

In the heart of a neighborhood full of... local color there is a rooftop with a breathtaking view of the Acropolis and the surrounding historical areas. You'll enjoy it seated sitting at the tables that are tiled with old-fashioned tiles. Breakfast and brunch are well-made and served daily, while the cocktail list includes several sections - try Kaimaki Fizz and Lambada to cool off. The DJs are experienced and capable of keeping things moving at a relaxed pace.

Taste some fresh and great quality fish and seafood at value-for-money prices. This is the fifth venue of the brand created by masterful seafood chef Giorgos Papaioannou who proposes salted, marinated, grilled and fried fishes, as well as shells, crabs, and octopuses to accompany with Greek spirits.

Anglais Athens

You have to find your way between the kebab restaurants to the entrance to this rooftop, which has a spectacular view of the Acropolis, especially if you sit on the sofas. The decoration, with the palm tree, old-fashioned tiles, floral fabrics and iron furniture, is reminiscent of a 1960s house veranda. Try the carbonara and burger and drink cocktails with English historical names while listening to pleasant pop music.

Bluefish Athens

Situated in one of the most beautiful squares of Plaka, overlooking the Roman Agora, this restaurant offers a fusion approach to seafood. There are references to Japanese, Indian and Mexican cuisine, sometimes successful and sometimes incomplete, but certainly interesting. The tables in the square beneath the mulberry trees are highly coveted during the warm days, while the interior space is decorated in a graceful island style.

This broad restaurant for Indian fast food, named after the words "naan" and "sandwich", is strategically located in an area where massive crowds of Athenians and tourists stroll every time of the day. The small menu includes wraps of freshly baked naan pies filled with tikka, curry and masala chicken. We like to accompany our wraps with mango lassi while enjoying the view of the Acropolis from the terraces upstairs.
